The Center for Women’s Resources joins the 10th Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development with the theme “Accelerating the recovery from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at all levels in Asia and the Pacific”.
Through the Asia Pacific Regional CSO Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM) members of civil society bring their joint positions and strategize interventions, tackling systemic barriers in achieving genuine sustainable development. Decades-long implementation of neoliberal policies and market-driven solutions failed to deliver its promise of progress and development. They especially highlight how three years on, the pandemic continues to expose and exacerbate the already existing structural inequalities — in wealth, power, and resources, between countries and within countries, between rich and the poor, and between men and women.
